Unveiling Ancient Legends Through Books and Art

Welcome to the World of Mythology and Self-Discovery

In August 2022, my life’s journey took an unexpected and profound turn with a diagnosis of Autism at the age of 62. This revelation cast my lifelong penchant for lists and structured thought in a new light, offering clarity and understanding to my unique way of engaging with the world. As someone trained as an artist at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I had spent most of my creative career exhibiting encaustic semi-abstract paintings. However, this diagnosis unlocked a wellspring of stories and ideas that had long been gestating in my mind.
My fascination with mythology, a constant presence since my youngest days and supercharged when I discovered the work of Joseph Campbell, found new expression following my diagnosis. Since moving to Edinburgh in 2006—a city steeped in legend and lore—I have been surrounded by an environment rich in stories that have captivated my imagination. It was during this period of newfound self-understanding that I began to explore these myths more deeply, intertwining my artistic skills with my passion for storytelling. To be closer to these myths, I relocated to the Scottish Highlands on January 1, 2024, immersing myself further in the landscapes that inspired these legends
